Overview

Nestled within the bustling Borough Market in London, Hash offers a vibrant dive into comfort food with a modern twist. This eatery specializes in hearty dishes such as Mac and Chicken, Mac and Bacon, and their famed Smash Burger and Chips, each crafted to satisfy cravings for rich, indulgent flavors.

The star attractions are undoubtedly their Mac and Cheese variants paired with tender proteins like pulled pork or crispy chicken. Diners praise the gooey cheese sauce and succulent meat, with tenderness and well-balanced seasoning highlighted in customer experiences. The Smash Burger, grilled to order, stands out as a must-try — praised as potentially among the best in the London market scene for its juicy texture and carefully prepared buns.

Hash’s location in Green Dragon Court places it in a lively, tight space — a bottleneck spot that can create queues but maintains a swift service rhythm. The compact yet energetic environment cultivates a social food experience, ideal for casual visitors and market-goers seeking quick yet flavorful meals. The staff’s warmth, including their Sri Lankan roots, enriches the ambiance, adding a layer of cultural connection to the dining experience.

This spot caters well to a diverse crowd — from locals hunting for authentic comfort food to tourists exploring Borough Market’s culinary offerings. The menu’s balance between familiar Western comfort dishes and unique touches makes it appealing to both adventurous eaters and those seeking satisfying staples.

While some find the chicken dishes variable in flavor intensity, the overall impression remains positive, especially for those who appreciate fast, freshly cooked meals amid the market buzz. The attention to detail, particularly in the cheese-rich sides and burger construction, anchors Hash as a worthy contender in London’s competitive street-food landscape.

In summary, Hash thrives by marrying classic comfort food with efficient service and a genuine community vibe. For anyone wandering Borough Market, this spot offers a hearty and flavorful pitstop that promises return visits.

Went here for the first time last Saturday and had the pulled pork with mac n cheese. It was delicious! The meat was tender and cooked to perfection. The Mac n cheese was soo good and cheesy. Even their fries were yummy. I’ll definitely be coming back next time when im in London.

I am not sure if it is a US thing, but the chicken had no flavor and the Mac and cheese was just ok. We got the chicken Mac-n-cheese and the grill chicken burger. The buns and fry’s were good. Service was good and the line went smoothly, except for the people in front of me who wanted to customize everything, which they accommodated with no issue.

Had the chicken burger at Hash in Borough Market and it was absolutely delicious juicy, full of flavour, and cooked perfectly. The guys serving were really friendly and welcoming, and I was pleasantly surprised to find out they’re Sri Lankan. Great food and great people, I’ll definitely be coming back.

Got the chicken sandwich with a side of mac & cheese instead of fries. It was all delicious! Would love to try a spicy chicken sandwich if they had that option. Lots of smells while waiting in the long line. Looking up, the trees were covered in dust from the oil coated leaves. Guess that’s what happens with so much frying. The food and service were great! We would return!

This place is great. Going as fast as they can to make some great food at decent prices considering it’s right in borough market. The location sucks being pinned at a bottleneck entrance to the market, but the line moves fast enough. If you get basically anything but the burger (Mac & cheese, friend chicken), it’s always being made in batches and will come out quick. If you get the burger, prepare to wait while they cook it. Overall, really good though. I loved it. I’ve eaten so many burgers in my life and this possibly the best one.
